Hbr 11:24 By faith Moses, when he became of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh's daughter,
choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin,

Hbr 11:29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea as by dry land, whereas the Egyptians, attempting to do so, were drowned.

Exd. 15:2-The LORD is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation; my father's God, and I will exalt him.
The LORD is a warrior: the LORD is his name.

This is a piece of the song the Israelites sang after this enormous miracle they had witnessed, the parting of the Red Sea. Mosess face was made to reflect this joy. Red, a color symbolizing "redemption" throughout the bible, was chosen as the color of Moses blanket or cloak blowing in the East wind. I felt that this style of brush stroke had the song-like quality that I wanted to reflect the Israelite's song, or "Song of Miriam."
